The annual rugby union RBS Six Nations Championship kicks off on 2nd February 2008 with Ireland v Italy at Croke Park. Eyes will be on England’s efforts after their back-to-back World Cup final appearances. The England squad is a mix of old and new so it is perhaps difficult to know how they will play but they will have home advantage for their first game against Wales.

For England rugby fans, when they spend over £10 in the rugby section at Kitbag, there is a free gift England RFU rugby calendar. This will be added to the customer’s shopping basket automatically when the relevant products are added.

Kitbag have a dedicated Six Nations section which includes sub-category links to all the teams - England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Italy and France.

C’mon England!

Ian Botham Autobiography

Botham - Head On: The AutobiographyOne of the Christmas presents I received this year was Ian Botham’s autobiography called Head On. I have just started reading it and, if the book is anything like the man himself, it should be an entertaining read!

I am not sure if this is the only autobiography because there are a few Ian Botham books that have the same ‘Autobiography’ title. Nevertheless, Head On appears to be the most recently published. It should be a good read.

England Rugby Shirt

Sport No Comments »

I have supported the England rugby team for more years than I care to remember, either from the sofa, down the pub … or at the game itself.  These days, there are a lot of England rugby products that you can buy, ranging from the England Rugby Mug to an England Rugby Calendar.

England Rugby ShirtHowever, top of the list must be an England Rugby Shirt, either short-sleeved or the more traditional long-sleeve version. I used to buy these after a match at Twickenham but I discovered that getting home with a pristine new shirt wasn’t always so easy after a few beers (ahem). This year, I plan to buy the long-sleeve version in preparation for a trip to Rome in February 2008 to see the Six Nations game against Italy.

One of the good things about going to an away game is that the atmosphere is somewhat similiar to a home game with friendly supporters mingling in bars outside the game but it’s also quite different in other ways, Italian food and wine being one of the main differences! I’m looking forward to February already.
