After the Christmas festivities, I think it’s time I got some exercise with a few long country walks! These two Karrimor walking boots are ideal for the purpose and they provide tough but comfortable protection for your feet.
Karrimor KSB 300 Leather Skye 3-Season boot
The classic Karrimor KSB 300 Leather Skye walking boot is back! Now with eVENT, a waterproof and breathable lining. This boot is a leather version of the outrageously popular and successful KSB 300 and it is ideal for walking and trekking.
A true classic, the design is comfortable and also waterproof and breathable – thanks to its eVENT lining – and also includes the excellent Vibram Bifida sole unit, which provides great traction in a wide range of conditions.

I’m looking for a New Year’s Eve gift and champagne seemed to be quite appropriate. There are many online retailers with champagne gift sets but another option is to buy a personalised bottle of champagne where you can choose your own message. Nice idea.
Other champagnes:
I usually find that champagne and chocolates is another winner!

I’m not known for my my culinary skills but I buy my fair share of cookbooks. Usually, I have a few weeks of enthusiasm and then the book goes on my bookshelf never to be seen again! However, recently I have become a bit of a fan of the TV chef Rachel Allen because the recipes seem to be straightforward and they feature ‘real’ homecooking.
Rachel Allen has published quite a few cookbooks usually with a ‘favourite food’ theme. However, the book I bought last week is called Rachel’s Food for Living which you can buy for £10 to £20 from several online bookshops.
I recommend the Chicken with Honey and Lemon recipe on page 157. It’s quite simple, healthy, and delicious…..
